Wearing braces isn’t just about style; it’s also about caring for your teeth and gums. To avoid cavities, gum disease, and bad breath, it’s important to use the right daily hygiene products. Here’s our PESITRO checklist:

1. A special toothbrush for braces
Several toothbrush options with U-shaped bristles are designed for cleaning around braces and under archwire. At PESITRO, we use patented Ultra-X® polyester bristles in our toothbrushes.

2. Single-tuft brush for braces
This is a narrow brush with a very compact head for spot cleaning: around braces, on the inner surface of teeth, next to the arch, it is simply indispensable for thorough hygiene.

3. Interdental brushes
Indispensable for cleaning the space between the archwire and teeth. Small, thin, and convenient, they easily reach hard-to-reach areas. We have different sizes for different spaces!

4. Ortho-wax
If your cheeks or tongue are irritated, wax creates a protective barrier—a first aid measure for discomfort. Simply apply a small amount to the affected area.

When to use?
Stage What are we doing?
1. Morning We start with a U-shaped braces brush and toothpaste. Then we use an interdental brush.
2. After each meal If possible, use a brush or floss with a loosening effect to clean food debris from between teeth.
3. Evening Evening hygiene should be as thorough as possible: a U-shaped brush, a brush, a single-tuft brush, floss, and optionally a tongue scraper.

What to avoid:
Hard brushes that can damage braces or injure teeth;
Avoid making sharp movements with the thread – instead, it is better to use a flosser or a brush;
Skipping brushing after meals – food debris quickly causes tooth decay.
